Georg Manthey

Georg Manthey is an attorney-at-law at Spirit Legal. He initially read cultural studies and musicology at Leipzig University and the University of Wales, Cardiff. Interested in British music culture, Georg Manthey went on to study law at the Martin Luther University in Halle/Saale and Leipzig University. During his studies, he worked as an orchestra scheduler, project manager for an international music competition, road manager for the European tour of a Norwegian band, and sales manager for a regional cultural magazine.
The focus of his professional legal work includes music law, copyright law, trade mark law and private international law. He applies his strengths in music law when advising clients, preparing expert opinions, drafting contracts, offering seminars, conducting court proceedings and filing trade mark applications.
In his free time, Georg Manthey likes to meet friends, plays music in a rock band, works on his own compositions and lets off steam by exercising and cooking with his family.
